Nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach, VA, we proudly introduce ourselves as a black-owned business. Ro and Leonard, my husband and I both are from the South and Leonard is a 24-year Army veteran. That suffered from insomnia, back and knee pains and PTSD, realized early on that a change was eventually coming.

Our humble beginnings trace back to our backyard, where we started growing vegetables to lead a healthier and more organic lifestyle. As we delved deeper into the realm of agriculture, we realized the potential of cultivating cannabis. Our expertise and experience have allowed us to establish Golden Gurl Greenhouse, where we produce high-quality cannabis that is grown with utmost care and attention.

The Timeline

April 2020: Virginia governor Ralph Northam approved a bill to decriminalize simple cannabis possession which took effect July 2020.

February 2021: Both houses of Virginia General Assembly passed legislation to fully legalize cannabis.

July 2021: Adults 21 & up were granted permission to do the following:

Possess up to 1-ounce of cannabis. (Which can't be smoked outside/in public)
Cultivate up to 4-cannabis plants per household.
Gift other adults 21 or older up to 1-ounce of cannabis as long as there's no remuneration or commercial/retail transaction being made. (also known as adult sharing)

Cannabis Cultivator: Plant Handling

We will come directly to you to inspect your growing area for any potential diseases or pest concerns. Checking your environment to ensure your space is suitable for growing. Checking to see if plant need any pruning or LST (low stress training) techniques. Looking to see if soil is up taking the proper nutrients that it needs to thrive during the different life stages of the plant. Give tips on over watering your plants, light suggestions, as well as offering the different tent sizes to maximize your yields.

Equipment set up and Inspection

It's crucial to have the right equipment when growing cannabis, such as digital pH meters, parts per million meters (PPM), and soil readers. Also, you want then right size pots fabric or hydroponics systems. Educating you on the different tent sizes and carbon filtration systems to oscillating fans to making sure you have the proper soil such as coco coir. and most importantly making sure you have humidifiers, to dehumidifiers depending on the plant life cycles. Just a few things that you have to consider when starting a cannabis grow.
